학습자의 한자 인식의 양태를 파악한다면 학습자가 어떻게 글자를 인식하는지, 어떤 글자에 더 관심과 흥미를 가지는지, 어떤 순서로 글자를 파악하는지 등의 정보를 얻을 수 있을 것이다. 기초적이지만 실제적이고 객관적이며 과학적인 이러한 정보는 차후 한자의 수준을 설정하는 방식에 혁신적인 아이디어를 제공하거나 직접적인 한자 수준 설정의 준거로 작용할 수 있을 것이다. 한자를 배우는 주체가 어떻게 그것을 인식하고 이해하는지를 실제 눈으로 확인하고 객관적인 데이터를 축적할 수 있다면 좀 더 합리적이고 실증적인 한자 선정의 기준을 세울 수 있는 것은 당연하기 때문이다. 이 연구의 핵심 과제는 학습자들이 ‘어떻게 한자를 인식하는지, 한자의 어떤 부분에 더 관심과 흥미를 가지는지, 어떤 순서로 한자를 파악하는지’ 등의 실제적이고 객관적인 안구 운동 자료를 아이트래커를 활용해 취합하고 그것을 분석하여 한자 수준 설정의 새로운 방법 또는 가능성을 시사하고 제언하는 것이다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 학교 급에 따라 중학교 2개 교, 고등학교 2개 교를 대상으로 총 36명의 안구 운동을 추적하고 분석하여 학습자가 한자를 어떻게 ‘보는지’를 밝히고, 이것을 활용해 한자 수준을 구분하는 독특한 측정 방법이나 모델을 제언하였다.
If we recognize learners' pattern of Chinese character recognition, we will be able to get information such as how learners perceive the character, which character is more interested and interested, and in which order the character is recognized. This basic, but practical, objective, and scientific information could serve as a basis for providing innovative ideas for the way to set the level of Chinese characters in the future, or for establishing a direct Chinese character level. The key task of this study is to use eye tracker to collect actual and objective eye movement data and to analyze it to propose new methods and possibilities of Chinese character level setting. For example, we study how learners perceive Chinese characters, which parts of Chinese characters are more interested, and in what order to identify Chinese characters. Therefore, in this study, a total of 36 eye movements were traced and analyzed for 2 middle schools and 2 high schools. This study suggests a unique measurement method or model that distinguishes the level of Chinese characters by explaining how learners 'see' Chinese characters.
