HDR (High Dynamic Range) is a method of trying to express the image as close as possible to the human eye to see the limit of the images that digital cameras cannot support, by extending the dynamic range. A human eye can recognize a luminance of about 10,000:1, but a digital camera recognizes only about 64:1. It is not easy to express the image with rich tone as seen and felt by the human eye. Therefore, we created a kind of surrealistic HDR image that combines pictorial and dramatic elements with optimal HDR expression that can express the details of bright and dark parts with tone mapping of more exposure interval. We expect more interdisciplinary pictorial expression through application of the optimal exposure interval and width to the image production by HDR technique, by comparing images of tone-mapping in various ways with a maximum exposure range of ± 2EV within the exposure interval of ± 1EV to represent HDR images combined with various factors.
