This paper is based on my proposal of the 4th International Conference performed in Yanjing, China in October, 2008. The twenty scholars presented their papers on the contemporary issues in the Humanities of their own countries in this Conference , which was organized under the joint sponsorship of South and North Korea and China(Yanbian) . At this Conference , I presented the overview of the current state since 2000 and the tasks ahead of studies in classical Korean literature . Both that presentation and this paper owe "the Annual reviews" in 『GugmunhakYeongu(Journal of Korean Literature)』 published by the Gugmunhakhoe(The Society of Korean Literatl1re) organized mainly by Department of Korean Literature and Linguistics of Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea. The reviews are composed of the 4 fields of studies of classical Korean literature , that is, Korean oral literature , classical Korean literature in Chinese characters , classical Korean poetry and classical Korean novels. It must be a very difficult and a hard work for the reporters of the reviews to read and evaluate hundreds of treatises and books and theses. As the results of their efforts, we can trust those reviews un-biased. I wish all the colleagues of domestic and abroad could know them . and could use the good treaties and the books menti ned there for the purpose of their studying classical Korean literature with authenticity. That is the reason why I use them as the materials for this paper. My own doing in this paper is to select several themes considering North East Asia's view points and to divide the 7 years' products of Korean literary studies into 8 parts, which show the trends clearly in the current history of Korean literary studies on classical Korean literature. The 8 trends of studies since 2000 I selected are the literature education, popularization in literature, stylistics approaches , North East Asian literature and Korean literature, regional literature, feminist literary criticism, literary contents and the interest in North Korea literature . In addition, I list the papers mentioned here to make the readers refer them easily. I discuss , also, the problems in these trends and the tasks in our future studies. For the latter, a word I emphasize is 'an attitude of confidences' both in processes and in results of studying. In the current circumstances better than ever, what needs to be done from now on must be the establishment of authenticity among us.
