본 연구의 목적은 SCAMPER 기법을 활용한 이야기 나누기 활동이 유아의 창의성과 언어능력에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는데 있다. 본 연구는 경기도 B시에 소재하고 있는 두 곳의 병설유치원에 재원중인 만 5세 유아 44명을 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 실험집단에게는 8주 동안 주 2회씩 총 16회에 걸쳐 SCAMPER 기법을 활용한 이야기 나누기 활동을 실시하였으며, 비교집단은 주제에 따라 지도서에 있는 이야기 나누기 활동을 그대로 실시하였다. 본 연구에서의 자료 분석은 SPSS 19.0 프로그램을 활용하여 공변량 분석(ANCOVA)을 통해 이루어졌다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, SCAMPER 기법을 활용한 이야기 나누기 활동을 실시한 후 실험집단 유아는 비교집단 유아보다 창의성 전체 점수와 하위변인인 유창성, 융통성, 독창성에서 높은 점수를 나타내었고, 그 결과는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 실험집단 유아는 비교집단 유아보다 언어능력 전체 점수와 하위변인인 언어이해력, 언어표현력에서 높은 점수를 나타내었고, 그 결과는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과는 유아교육현장에서 이야기 나누기 활동 시 SCAMPER 기법을 활용하는 것은 유아의 창의성과 언어능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 시사한다.
The purpose of this study was to find out the effects of large-group discussion activities using SCAMPER technique on young children’s creativity and language ability. The subjects in this study were 44 five-year-old children in two kindergartens located in B city, Gyeonggi-do. Out of them, 22 young children were assigned as an experimental group, and 22 young children were assigned as a comparative group. The experimental group carried out the large-group discussion activity using SCAMPER technique 16 times for 8 weeks, while the comparative group implemented the large-group discussion activity according to teaching guide book based on topic. The collected data were analyzed by ANCOVA using SPSS 19.0 program. The results of this research were summarized as follows. First, there were significant differences between two groups in creativity. The experimental group showed statistically higher than the comparative group in the total creativity score and the sub-score of fluency, flexibility, and originality. Second, there were significant differences between two groups in language ability. The experimental group showed statistically higher than the comparative group in the total language ability score and the sub-score of language understanding and language expression. Therefore, the results imply that the utilization of the SCAMPER technique in the large-group discussion activity increases young children’s creativity and language ability.
