This paper aims to explore the limitations of analogical- analytical hermeneutics for semiotic interpretation, and examines the advantages of experiential, anagogical hermeneutics instead. The author argues that the symbol, as it is understood in hermeneutics, has a broad ontological foundation which requires interpretative approaches that are broader than conceptual analysis. It finishes with an application of theses basis to Philosophical Practice.
