아리요시공사 암살미수 사건은 상해의 한인 아나키스트 단체인 남화한인청년연맹에 참여하고 있던 원심창이 아리요시 아키라 중국 주재 일본 공사를 암살하려는 계획을 세운 것으로부터 시작되었다. 그의 이와 같은 계획은 상해 주재 일본총영사관 경찰의 귀에 들어갔다. 야마다 순사는 그 계획을 세운 인물이 원심창이라는 것을 파악하고, 일본인 밀정인 오키에게 지시하여 원심창과 접촉하도록 하였다. 3월 5일 원심창을 만난 오키는 아리요시 공사가 일본으로 떠나기 전에 조만간 상해시 홍구에서 유지들과 회식 자리를 갖게 될 것이라고 알려주었다. 이에 원심창은 한인 아나키스트청년들의 행동단체인 흑색공포단원들을 즉각 소집하여 아리요시 공사의 암살 계획을 털어놓고 그들의 동의를 구하였다. 흑색공포단원들은 이에 적극 동의하였고, 3월 6일 거사의 주역으로서 원심창, 백정기, 이강훈을 선정하였다. 3월 12일경 밀정 오키는 원심창에게 아리요시 공사 일행의 연회 장소가 ‘육삼정’이라는 음식점임을 알려주었다. 이에 원심창은 그날 밤 오키와 함께 홍구의 육삼정 부근을 현장 답사하고 구체적인 거사 계획을 세웠다. 13일 저녁 원심창, 백정기, 이강훈은 따로 현장을 답사하고, 행동계획을 세웠다. 14일 원심창은 오키에게 거사에 참여할 두 사람이 백정기와 이강훈임을 알려주었다. 16일 원심창 등은 최종적인 암살 계획을 세웠다. 그것은 오키가 육삼정 앞에서 아리요시 공사 일행의 동정을 살피고, 아리요시 공사가 연회를 마치고 나올 때 골목길 입구에 대기하는 일본인 아나키스트 야타베에게 알리고, 야타베는 바로 대기장소인 음식점 송강춘으로 달려가서 백정기와 이강훈에게 알려, 백과 이가 육삼정 앞으로 달려와 폭탄과 수류탄으로 공사를 암살한다는 것이었다. 그러나 이와 같은 계획은 오키를 통해 그대로 일본총영사관 경찰에게 전달되었다. 원심창 일행은 9시 20분경 자동차 편으로 송강춘 부근에 도착하였다. 야타베가 먼저 내려 육삼정 쪽 골목으로 향하였고, 이후 원심창과 백정기, 그리고 이강훈 순으로 내려 송강춘으로 이동하였다. 그러나 이들이 송강춘에 들어가자 인근의 홍구 경찰서에 대기 중이던 공동조계의 행정 경찰과 일본 영사관 경찰이 바로 출동하여 송강춘을 습격했다. 그리하여 원심창, 백정기, 이강훈은 송강춘에 아무런 저항도 하지 못하고 잡혔다. 결국 이 사건은 원심창이 먼저 아리요시 공사를 암살하려는 계획을 세운 것이 일본 경찰의 귀에 들어가, 일본 경찰이 일본인 밀정을 이용하여 역스파이 공작을 폄으로써 암살음모가 실패로 돌아간 사건이었다.

Attempted Assassination of Japanese Minister(‘Liusanting Incident’) in 1933 started with a plot that Won Shim-chang, a member of the South China Korean Youth League, which was a Korean anarchist organization in Shanghai, hatched to assassinate the Japanese minister to China, Ariyoshi Akira. That plot leaked out to the police at the Japanese Consulate General in Shanghai. A Japanese policeman, Yamada, noticed that the person who hatched the plot was Won Shim-chang, and instructed a Japanese spy Oki to contact Won Shim-chang. On March 5, Oki met Won Shim-chang and told him that Ariyoshi would soon have dinner with influential people in the Hongkou district of Shanghai before leaving for Japan. Then, Won Shim-chang convened Black Terrorist Group, a Korean anarchist youth action group, to reveal the plot to assassinate Ariyoshi and seek their consent to it. The members of Black Terror Group actively consented to it, and selected and asked Won Shim-chang, Baek Jeong-gi and Lee Gang-hun to take an action. On around March 12, Oki told Won Shim-chang that the dinner banquet for Ariyoshi and his party would be held in a restaurant ‘Liusanting.’ On that night, Won Shim-chang investigated the vicinity of Liusanting in Hongkou together with Oki and made a detailed plan. On the night of the 13th day, Won Shim-chang, Baek Jeong-gi and Lee Gang-hun investigated the venue separately and set up an action plan. On the 16th day, Won Shim-chang and others established a final plan for assassination. The plan was as follows: Oki would watch the movements of Ariyoshi and his party around Liusanting; when Ariyoshi got out of the banquet, Oki would tell it to Japanese anarchist Yatabe waiting in the alleyway; Yatabe would tell it to Baek Jeong-gi and Lee Gang-hun in Songjiangchun Restaurant, a waiting place; Baek Jeong-gi and Lee Gang-hun would go to Liusanting and assassinate Ariyoshi with bomb and grenade. However, the plan was revealed to the Japanese Consulate General police through Oki. Won Shim-chang and his party arrived at the vicinity of Songjiangchun by car at around 9:20 pm. Yatabe got out of the car first and went towards the alley to Liusanting. Then, Won Shim-chang, Baek Jeong-gi and Lee Gang-hun got out of the car in order and moved to Songjiangchun. However, when they entered Songjiangchun, the administrative police of the an international settlement and the Japanese Consulate General police, who had been waiting at the nearby Hongkou police station, raided Songjiangchun immediately. Then, Won Shim-chang, Baek Jeong-gi and Lee Gang-hun were arrested in Songjiangchun without fighting back. In conclusion, this incident was the case that Won Shim-chang’s plot to assassinate Ariyoshi leaked out to the Japanese police and that the Japanese police performed a counterespionage maneuver using a Japanese spy.
