His poetry shows various styles due to his polymath and the history of life that lived in the historical upheavals. His poetry was remarkably superior in Gutishi(古體詩) and Jintishi(近體詩) in terms of form, especially the Qiyanlüshi(七言律詩) is highly regarded. In this article, I examined his poetry and major works of poetry together to see how his poetic claims were embodied in his work. First I review his poetics in there aspects ; 1. Poetry must tell the truth, 2. Poetry must have content and 3. To learn and to read widely and then I divide his works into four categories (1) sadness for the times (2) expressing sentiments in prison (3) sadness for being ruined country (4) couple’s affection.
