본 연구는 아버지의 놀이참여가 아버지-유아 간의 친밀감을 매개로 유아의 놀이몰입과 또래놀이행동에 미치는 영향력이 어떠한가를 분석해 보는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 K, J지역에 소재한 유아교육기관의 유아 242명과 그들의 아버지를 연구대상으로 선정하고, 연구목적과 응답방법에 대한 안내지를 포함한 질문지를 가정에 배부하여 놀이참여도와 아버지-유아 간 친밀감에 관한 자료를 수집하였다. 또 유아의 놀이몰입과 또래놀이행동에 관한 자료를 담임교사를 통해 수집하였다. 수집된 자료를 토대로Hayes(2013)의 PROCESS macro를 활용한 매개모형(mediation model)의 유의성 검증을실시하였다. 분석결과, 아버지의 놀이참여는 아버지-유아 간의 친밀감을 매개로 유아의놀이몰입, 또래놀이행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과는 아버지의놀이참여와 자녀와의 친밀감이 유아의 놀이에 대한 사회･정서적 측면에 직간접적으로 영향을 미치고 있음을 시사한다.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of father’s play participation on child’s play flow and peer play behavior mediating through father-child intimacy. For this purpose, 242 children and their fathers of early childhood education institutions in K city and J province were selected for the study, and Play participation and father-child intimacy were collected through father, and child’s play flow and peer play behavior were collected through homeroom teachers. Based on the collected data, the significance of mediation model using Hayes(2013) PROCESS macro was tested. As a result, father’s play participation has a significant effect on play flow and peer play behavior of children mediating through father-child intimacy. The results of this study suggest that father’s play participation and intimacy with children directly or indirectly affect the social and emotional aspects of children’s play. This emphasizes the importance of father’s parenting role to influence child’s play. It is discussed that it is necessary to positively reinforce these variables considering that the child’s play satisfaction and healthy play behavior can be induced as father’s play participation influenced the emotional relationship with the child.
