조선시대에 행정문서를 처리했던 胥吏들은 반드시 吏讀와 吏讀文을 해독하고 쓸 줄 알아야 했다. 그래서 조선 후기에는 『儒胥必知』나 『吏文大師』, 『吏文』 등의 이두 학습서들이 여럿 편찬되었다. 그리고 「吏頭彙編」이니 「吏讀」, 「吏文」 등의 소제목을 달고, 이두 항목을 정리하고 독음을 단 학습서들도 몇 개 편찬 되었다. 그러나 이들에 대해서 자세하게 소개하고, 그것들을 영인하여 보여주는 것은 그리 많지 않은 듯하다. 더욱이 그것들을 소개하더라도 피상적으로 소개하다보니, 잘못 소개된 것들이 있다. 이 글은 최근까지 소개된 조선시대 이두 학습서 10여 종을 대상으로 잘못 소개된 것을 바로 잡아서, 다시 개괄적으로 정리하여, 새로이 이두에 관심을 가지거나 이두 연구를 하려는 사람들에게 도움을 주기 위하여 작성한 것이다. 조선시대 이두 학습서는 「吏文」, 「吏文大師」, 『典律通補』의 「吏文」, 『古今釋林』의 「羅麗吏讀」, 『才物譜』의 「里讀」(또는 「吏讀」), 『五洲衍文長箋散稿』의 「吏讀方言」, 「吏文襍例」, 「吏讀便覽」, 『儒胥必知』의 「吏頭彙編」, 『經俚襍說』의 「東國吏讀彙編」, 『注解語錄總覽』의 「吏文語錄」 등이 있다.
In the Joseon Dynasty, a petty official who had processed the executive document had to decode and write Idu and Idu sentense. Thus, in the late Joseon period, Idu study materials such as Yuseo- pilji(儒胥必知), Imun-daesa(吏文大師) and Imun(吏文) were compiled. Also, Idu-hwipyeon(吏讀彙編), Idu(吏讀), Imun(吏文), etc., Idu(吏讀) items and some study materials were compiled. However, there is not much to show them in detail and print them by photopypography. There are many things that have been introduced wrongly when I introduce them superficially even if they introduce them. This article corrects the misunderstandings of 10 kinds of Idu study materials of Chosun Dynasty that were introduced until recently. And I have written them out again in order to help those who are interested in new Idu or who want to study Idu. Idu study materials in the Chosun Dynasty are Imun(吏文), Imun- daesa(吏文大師), Imun(吏文) of Jeonlyul-tongbo(典律通補), Nalyeo-Idu (羅麗吏讀) of Gogeum-seoglim(古今釋林) and Idu(吏讀) of Jaemulbo(才物譜), Idu-bangeon(吏讀方言) of Ojuyeon-munjangjeon-sango(五洲衍文長箋散稿), Imun-jamnye(吏文襍例), Idu-pyeollam(吏讀便覽), Idu- hwipyeon(吏頭彙編) of Yuseo-pilji(儒胥必知), Donggug-Iduhwipyeon(東國吏讀彙編) of Gyeong-lijabseol(經俚襍說), Imun-eolog(吏文語錄) of Juhae-eolog-chonglam(注解語錄總覽).
