이 논문은 최근 한국교회에서 새롭게 주목을 끌고 있는 ‘작은교회’에 대한 비판적 성찰을 통해, 21세기 한국교회가 지향해야할 작은교회론의 이해 및 기독교교육의 새로운 생태계를 탐색하는데 주요한 목적이다. 특히 ‘천국행 구원열차’로 표상되는 내세지향적인 교회론과 교회성장학적 작은교회론을 대신하여, 본 논문은 과연 한국교회가 어떠한 의미의 작은교회론을 추구해야 하는지 비판적으로 탐색하고 있다. 좀 더 구체적으로, 본 논문은 다음과 같은 네 가지의 질문을 탐색하고 있다. 첫째, 작은 교회의 의미는 무엇인가? 둘째, 현대신학에서 교회론의 논의는 어떠하며, 그 맥락에서 작은교회론은 어떻게 새롭게 이해될 수 있는가? 셋째, 한국교회의 작은교회를 위한 한 모델로써 테오프락시스 작은교회론이란 무엇인가? 넷째, 작은교회에 근거한 기독교교육의 생태계는 어떻게 재구성될 수 있을까? 이상의 논의를 통해 본 논문은 테오프락시스 작은교회론을 기반으로 하여 한국교회가 보다 통합적인 교육생태계를 고려하는 교육목회를 수행할 것을 제시하고 있다.
This article aims to understand the phenomenons of small church and to reconceptualize the meaning of the small church for the educational ministry in Korea. Instead of ecclesiology for the afterlife and the church growth, this article critically analyzes which aspects of the small church theory Korean church must pursue for educational ministry. To be more specific, this article asks four following questions. First, what is the meaning of small church? Second, what is the place of ecclesiology in modern theology and how should small church be understood in modern theology? Third, What is the theopraxis model which Korean ministry of the small church should follow? Foruth, how can educational ministry reform itself accordingly to the notion of small church? By acknowledging these questions, this article suggests Korean church to practice educational ministry which considers integrated environment based on the theopraxis model for the small church.
