연구목적: 본 연구는 초등학생을 중심으로 배려와 존중의 공동체를 구축할 수 있는 인성교육 프로그램을 적용하여 이에 대한 효과를 살펴보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 이를 위해 본 연구는 다양한 문헌연구와 기존의 인성교육 프로그램에 대한 검토를 바탕으로 16차시 분량의 배려와 존중의 공동체 구축을 위한 인성교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 그리고 3개 학급 86명의 5학년 초등학생을 대상으로 인성교육 프로그램을 실행하고, 배려 척도, 타인존중 태도 검사를 사전․사후 측정 및 비교함으로써 프로그램의 효과성을 검증하였다. 연구결과: 본 연구의 결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인성교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 배려적 태도에 유의미한 효과가 있었다. 둘째, 인성교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 타인존중 태도에 유의미한 효과가 있었다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구의 인성교육 프로그램의 효과 검증을 토대로, 학교 현장에서 쉽게 활용할 수 있고, 교육과정 내에서 실행할 수 있는 다양한 인성교육 프로그램 개발을 통해 학생들이 경험할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 필요가 있다. 또한 인성교육 프로그램을 통해 통합교육 안에서 장애학생과 비장애학생 사이에 배려하고 존중하는 마음이 길러지고, 나아가 학생들의 인성 수준의 향상이나 학교의 분위기 개선에 긍정적인 효과를 기대해볼 수 있을 것이다.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the character education program that can form a community of caring and respect centered on elementary school students. Method: For this purpose, this study developed a character education program for forming a community of caring and respect for the 16 hour based on literature review and review of existing character education programs. Additionally, the effectiveness of the program was verified by comparing character education program with 86 students in three classes. Results: The results of this study are as follows. First, the character education program had a significant effect on the caring attitude of elementary school students. Second, the character education program had a significant effect on the attitude of respect for others in elementary school students. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to provide opportunities for students to experience various kinds of the character education program that can be easily applied at the school site and can be implemented within the curriculum. In addition, through the character education program, consideration and respect among disabled students and non-disabled students is raised in integrated education and it can be expected to have a positive effect on improving the personality level of the students and improving the atmosphere of the school.
