동아신질서론과 동아연맹론, 그리고 동아협동체론은 서구열강의 아시아침략을 견제하기 위한 정치논리인 동시에 중국침략, 혹은 중국대륙에서의 일본의 이권 확대 및 유지를 위한 사상적 수단으로 표출되었다. 특히 일본의 침략전술은 중국본토와 만주침략을 정당화하고 합리화하는 수단으로 이용했을 뿐만 아니라 기존의 식민지지배를 공고화하는데 있어서 이념적 무기로 활용되었다. 무엇보다 이들의 이론이 대동아공영권형성에 많은 영향을 끼쳤다는 사실에는 이론의 여지가 없지만, 동양적 가치와 군사력에 의한 일방적 통합을 강요하고 있는 것이 아니라 미약하지만 서구적 가치를 기반으로 하는 보편적인 이념과 협력을 중시하는 미래지향적인 사상체제를 어느 정도 내포하고 있었다고 판단된다.
