이 글은 1946년부터 2014년까지 발행된 『동아일보』의 기사 텍스트를 바탕으로 해방 이후 분단체제를 통해 드러난 한국 사회의 이념 갈등 양상을 분석한다. 이러한 분석을 위해 1946년부터 2014년 사이의 기사에서 정체성 관련어들의 빈도 변화를 검토하고 1950년대부터 2000년대까지 이념 갈등과 관련된 핵심어들을 10년 단위로 추출하여 시기별 양상을 비교한다. 디지털 인문학의 ‘폭넓게 보는 방식’(distant reading)을 통해 『동아일보』의 빅데이터를 분석하는 이 논문은 한국사회 이념 갈등의 거시적 변화에 대한 양적인 분석과 함께 시기적 담론 변화에 관한 질적 분석을 제시한다.
This article explores the ideological conflicts of South Korean society in the divided system through analyzing Dong-A Ilbo Big Data between 1946 and 2014. To do this, it reviews the frequencies of the words related to state identity and compares the key words related to the ideological conflicts every 10 years. Through the digital humanities’ distant reading of Dong-A Ilbo Big Data, it offers a qualitative analysis of periodic discursive changes as well as a quantitative analysis of the macro historical changes.
