[연구목적]본 연구에서는 Network SBM 모형을 이용하여 국내 물류서비스기업의 상대적 효율성을 측정하고 그 결과를 바탕으로 시사점을 제시하고자 한다. [연구방법]물류산업에 있어 효율성을 측정하는 연구들은 다양한 부문에서 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 연구들이 전통적인 DEA 기법에 의해 분석함으로써 전체프로세스의 내부구조를 분리하지 않고 하나로 통합하여 분석하여 왔다. 이에 본 연구에서는 물류서비스기업의 효율성을 측정하기 위해 운영프로세스와 기업가치프로세스라는 두 개의 프로세스로 분리하고 DMU의 전체적인 효율성뿐만 아니라 각 프로세스의 부분적인 효율성까지 분석하기 위한 모형을 설계하였다. 실증분석을 위해 국내 물류서비스 기업을 대상으로 2011년부터 2015년까지 재무자료를 수집하여 연도별 효율성을 측정하였으며 분석의 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 코스피와 코스닥에 상장된 기업으로 한정하였다. [연구결과]분석결과 분석기간 전체적으로 첫 번째 스테이지에서는 효율적으로 나타난 DMU가 많았지만 두 번째 스테이지에서는 효율적인 DMU들이 줄어드는 결과를 보였다. Network SBM 모형을 통해 측정한 전체적인 효율성과 전통적인 DEA 모형의 효율성 측정 결과를 비교해 보면 분석기간 전체적으로 전통적인 DEA 모형에 비해 Network SBM 모형의 효율적인 기업의 수가 더 줄어드는 추세를 보였다. [연구의 시사점]이는 Network SBM 모형에서는 각 스테이지 별 효율성을 고려하여 스테이지별로 정확한 투입․산출요소를 정하여 보다 엄격하게 효율성을 측정하기 때문인 것으로 보인다. 이러한 결과는 보다 엄격한 측정이 요구되는 의사결정문제의 경우 Network SBM 모형에 의한 효율성 분석이 적합하다는 것을 시사한다.
[Purpose]Logistics industry efficiency has been widely studied using standard DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) model. As a matter of fact, these models do not account for the internal structure relative to measures characterizing logistics industry operations performance. Unlike most previous studies, this study is measured by the efficiency of logistics service firms using a slacks－based network DEA model, called Network SBM. [Methodology]In Network SBM model, two stages such as operation division and firm value division are introduced to estimate divisional efficiencies. The sample consists of 95 firm－year with logistics service firms traded over KSE(Korea Stock Exchange) and KOSDAQ(Korea Securities Dealers Automated Quotation) during 2011－2015. [Findings]This study results show that the first stage have more the efficient DMU than the second stage. These results imply that logistics service firm’s performance is not efficiently reflected in firm value in the second stage. When Comparing the overall efficiency measured by the Network SBM model and the efficiency measured by the traditional DEA model, the number of the efficient firms in the Network SBM model tend to decrease in comparison the traditional DEA model. [Implications]It is expected that the results of this study provide an useful information for helping logistics industries enhance their competitiveness.
