This study investigated and analyzed the characteristics of establishing the outdoor advertising guideline in Jeollanam-do local governments that have established the basic landscape plan. As a result, the outdoor advertising guidelines proposed in the basic landscape plan of the subject local governments were set in the regulation level rather than in the recommendation level. Similar trends were shown in local governments. However, many local governments have not set up the guideline by type. Therefore this study concluded that the establishment of a guideline should be supplemented. However, this study is a basic study to investigate the characteristics of establishing the outdoor advertising guideline which is a key element of urban landscape formation. Therefore, empirical study should be conducted in the future on how the established guideline is applied and evaluated.
