이 연구는 비학위과정으로 운영된 대학기반 발달장애성인의 평생교육 프로그램 실천 사례연구로서 대학기반의 발달장애성인 평생교육프로그램 운영이 학령기 이후 장애성인의 교육적 지원에 주는 실천적 의미에 대해 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 발달장애성인 평생교육프로그램운영 과정을 기획-개발-실행-평가의 4단계로 나누어 기술하였으며 프로그램운영의 적절성과 효율성에 대하여 응답이 가능한 발달장애성인의 프로그램운영에 대한 평가결과와 본 프로그램 운영에 참여한 발달장애성인 부모의 관점을 알아보고 결과를 분석하여 기술하였다. 그 결과 대학기반 평생교육운영은 청년기에 있는 발달장애성인과 그 부모에게 배움을 향한 비전 제시와 성취감 고취에 희망적인 메시지를 전달할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 대학은 생활연령에 적합한 활동의 장으로서 성인기에 필요한 평생교육적 소양을 익힐 수 있으며 도우미로 수업에 참여한 또래 대학생과의 교류를 통해 직·간접적인 학습이 자연스럽게 이루어짐으로써 자신의 역할에 대한 의미를 이해할 수 있도록 돕는 장(場)이기도 했다. 결론적으로 대학기반의 발달장애성인 평생교육 프로그램 운영은 발달장애성인과 그 부모의 교육적 요구에 부합할 수 있는 우수한 물적·인적 자원의 활용으로 질 높은 교육을 실시하는데 기여하며 대학 내 관련기관의 협력적 운영으로 운영의 투명성 및 효율성을 가져올 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
This study aimed to research meaning and implicit point of lifelong education program of non-degree course for adults with developmental disabilities in university setting after school graduation through practice case study. This study divided lifelong education course for adults with developmental disabilities to the four stages, that is, planning, development, implementing and evaluation and described. To research the appropriation and effectiveness, this study inquired about lifelong education program implementing and management through adults with developmental disabilities and their parents. As the result, lifelong education program for adults with developmental disabilities in university setting offered vision forward learning and accomplishment to the adults with developmental disabilities and the parents and delivered hopeful massages about themselves. And the university was the institute to learn about their own social roles as the adults with developmental disabilities in youth adolescent communicated with peer university students directly and indirectly. In conclusion, lifelong education program of non-degree course for adults with developmental disabilities in university setting has the strength to practice high quality education as utilizes superior material and human resources and contribute to manage whole program process efficiently.
