The purpose of this study is to find out how residents recognize impacts of cruise tourism in Asia where cruise tourism has shown rapid growth. For this purpose, this study selected Jeju Island as a research field, because it is one of the representative Asian port of calls. Contents analysis of the editorials and columns were conducted by selecting two major daily newspapers in Jeju Island, which is Jemin Ilbo and Halla Ilbo. As a result, the residents most strongly recognized the economic impact of Cruise tourism and minimal recognized the environmental impact. And also, despite of the editorials’ superficial way of expression, the residents generally agreed that cruise tourism should be fostered. The conclusion and implications described advice to policy maker in Jeju Island and Asian cruise stakeholders.
