이 연구는 <사고와 표현>에서 미자나빔mise en abyme 개념과 그 구체적인 작품들을 감상함으로써 예술적 감성을 일깨우고 상상력과 가정적 사고의 영역의 가능성을 성찰해보고자 한 강의사례를 소개하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 미자나빔은작품 속에 또 다른 작은 작품이 들어 있는 기법으로 문학이나 그림에서 오래전부터 사용되어온 것을 앙드레 지드가 개념화하였다. 미자나빔은 오늘날 문학, 그림, 사진, 영화, 공연을 두루 관통하고 가상과 현실의 경계를 해체해나가는 미디 어아트에서도 응용되는 트랜스아티스티크 개념이다. 이 개념을 통해 우리는 다양한 예술 장르의 작품들을 공통된 사유 기반에서 음미해보고 나서 구체적인 예들을 각자 찾아보면서 미자나빔의 개념 이해를 확인하고, 미자나빔 기법이 작품에서 가지는 의미나 의의를 성찰해보았으며, 특히 현대 미디어아트에 미자나빔 기법을 응용하여 봄으로써 가상의 영역이 현실과 다양한 방식으로 결합된 오늘날사회에서 가상이 현실에 미치는 영향에 대해 돌아보고 수업에서 생각한 내용들을 글로 정리해보는 시간을 가졌다. 미자나빔을 통해 예술작품 속에 도입된 새로운 중심에서 탈중심적이고 복수적인 사고의 다양한 형태를 경험해볼 수 있었다. 또한 현대 미디어아트의 미자나빔은 현실과 가상의 경계가 허물어지고 융합되어가는 오늘날 삶과 자아의 정체성 그리고 인간이 추구해야 할 가치에 대해 성찰하는 데 도움을 주었다.
The purpose of this study is to illustrate the use of mise en abyme in “thinking and expression”. Mise en abyme is a technique that contains another small frame in the work. This technique has long been used in literature and painting, and André Gide conceptualizes it. Mise en abyme which is transartistique concept is used today not only in literature, paintings, photographs, movies, music, performances, but also in Media art. Through this concept, we appreciated the works of various art genres from a common point of view. We looked at concrete examples of mise en abyme and tried to reflect on the meaning and significance of the concept. Especially, we have studied the effect of the virtual reality on the reality in today ‘s society where the virtual area is combined with the reality in various ways by applying the mise en abyme technique to contemporary media art. And we had time to summarize the opinions on this concept. Through mise en abyme, we not only witnessed the artistic sensibility, the possibility of imagination and new thinking, but also experienced various forms of decentered and pluralistic thinking. In addition, mise en abyme of contemporary media art, where the boundaries of reality and virtual reality are fused, has helped us to reflect on human identity and the values we should pursue.
