IT Convergence has been the most actively applied field in the financial industry with the purpose of improving the customer satisfaction, financial competitiveness, and electronic banking services, and etc. However, the financial industry is diversely distributed in not only the diversity of customer channel, but also the physical channels such as financial branches and so on. Also, it utilizes diverse IT assets in financial branches, which implies that the information environment of financial industry is a distributed surroundings which are distributed physically. Therefore, it is required to have a systematic management of financial IT assets in the perspective of information management. In this study, we designed and developed the architecture and functions of financial IT asset management system that utilizes a distributed information environment. The characteristics of the financial IT asset management system developed in this study are as followings: (1) Applying the new financial IT asset classification based on the Government EA model of Korea, (2) Supporting the lifecycle management of the financial IT assets in planning, acquisition, operation, disposal, and history management of IT assets, (3) Providing consistency of the status of IT assets by automatic monitoring according to the specified monitoring points.
