본 연구의 목적은 케이블TV방송사의 인턴십 프로그램의 현황을 분석하고, 교육과정 구성, 평가, 성과와 문제점 등을 파악하여 효율적인 인턴십 프로그램을 위한 개선 방안을 제시하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 케이블TV MSO 본사의 지역방송 담당자와지역 케이블TV방송사 인턴십 담당자를 대상으로 자기기입식 설문조사를 실시하였다. 또한 한국방송학회에서 실시하는 제15기 인턴십에 참가한 학생들을 대상으로 프로그램의내용 및 만족도에 대한 면담을 실시하였다. 연구결과, MSO의 경우 공식적으로 인턴십 프로그램을 시행하고 있는 곳은 딜라이브가 유일했으며, 지역의 개별 SO 네 군데에서 인턴십을 하고 있었다. 인턴십을 시행하지 않는 방송사가 비교적 많은 것은 비용과 인력, 안전문제 등이 걸림돌로 작용하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 인턴십 교육 프로그램은 일괄 교육 또는 직군별 교육 과정으로 진행되고 있었으며, 참여 학생들의 만족도는 상당히 높은것으로 나타났다. 케이블TV방송사의 담당자들 역시 대체로 인턴 프로그램에 대해 만족하고 있었으며, 성과에 대해서도 긍정적으로 생각하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 학생들관리나 교육에 있어서 부담을 가지고 있었다. 향후 인턴십 프로그램 운영과 관련한 매뉴얼과 커리큘럼, 사전교육과 중간관리, 인턴십 사후평가와 결과분석에 이르는 전 과정에 대한 점검과 보완이 필요하다.
This study analyzed internship program of cable stations and tried to suggest a solution to improve internship program effectively by understanding structure of training process. Also, we studied success and problems of internship programs to make this study fruitful. For this, we surveyed people in charge of cable stations of MSO head office and managers of internship programs, with self-administered questionnaires. In addition to this, we interviewed KABS’s 15th internship program participants and asked about how much they are satisfying with the program. As a result of the interview, we found out that D’live is the only cable station company which has official internship program in four SO local stations. The reason of scarcity of cable stations running internship program is that they have difficulties in aspects of costs, labor force and management. Internship programs were practiced with two ways of ‘integral training’ and ‘training by job groups’. Satisfaction evaluations were high scored and almost of people in charge of the programs are usually positive about the programs. However they feel burdens of managing and educating participants of the internship program. As a conclusion, I suggest that we need to prepare manuals to build systems for pre-training, managing of participants and assessment of the programs on the basis of exact examine of whole aspects of internship programs further.
