King Jeongjo(正祖) of Chosun(朝鮮) Dynasty enjoyed reading the memorials to the Throne by Lu-zhi(陸贄) of Tang(唐) Dynasty. He himself selected the good phrases and clauses from the works of Lu-zhi and had 『Luzou–Yuexuan(陸奏約選)』and『Lugao–Shouquan(陸稿手圈)』published. This article translated and appended the notes to the memorials to the Throne 「An address to the throne about the defensive strategy of the border area(論緣邊守備事宜狀)」by Lu-zhi(陸贄) from 『Luzou–Yuexuan(陸奏約選)』. Lu-zhi(陸贄) insisted to establish some proper strategies to guard the frontier, which consisted of having army stationed in the border area, supplying abundant military equipments, and leaving the supreme command to the combat leader occasionally in this memorial to the Throne. We can see and understand better the detailed politics and the ideology of Lu-zhi(陸贄) as a prime minister in Tang(唐) Dynasty.
