The purpose of this researchwas to propose policy directions for invigoration of green city policy based on local government official’s recognition. In order to do that, this study obtained questionnaire data about designation process, method, and effects of green cities from 5 designated cities and 52 undesignated cities through electronic survey and analysed them using descriptive analysis and expectation-effectiveness action grid. This research found that 1) government need to promote positively for stabilization and invigoration of green city policy, 2) government have to consider the budget support to projects by local government, and 3) government have to simplify procedures and evaluation indicators to less administrative burden were important strategies to improve green city policy. Also, existing green city policymust drastically translate into‘Green city making project’through integrating the steps of evaluation,plan, and project performance. The results of this research was contribute to make realistic environmental friendly urban policy.
