AB - This paper aims to analyze the impact of Shale Gas on renewable energy. Our research covered the impact shale gas had on renewable energy in the North American electricity industry, as shale gas is most widely used in that region. As shale gas is planned to become a part of the domestic energy mix as of 2017, we analyzed how the domestic electricity market/ industry would be impacted by the adoption of shale gas inNorthAmerica and howthis would relate to the domestic renewable energymarket. Based on the analysis of impacts shale gasmay have on the domestic renewable energy market, we identified risks and opportunities, along with responses and recommendations corresponding to these risks and opportunities, for the renewable energymarket.
