The goal of this paper is to investigate the phenomena of grammaticalization of nouns and finds a way for solution to deal with the unique types in Korean grammar. In especially, this paper shows the unique types of grammaticalization of nouns without meaning change: 1) Forms that are used as independent words as well as dependent words with the same meaning, 2) Forms that are used as independent words as well as affixes with the same meaning, 3) Finally words that are used as dependent words as well as affixes with the same meaning. On the basis of these data, this paper proposes that 1) grammaticalization has non-linear procedure not linear one, 2) we have two possibilities for solving the unique types in aspect of proper grammatical categories: introducing some interm categories such as semi-independent words, independent-affix words, and semi-affix words etc. and new defining the existing categories based on new criterion.
