본 연구는 초등 교사들이 라인댄스를 직접 경험하는 과정에서 라인댄스에 대한 교사 개인의 인식 변화를 고찰한 연구이다. 이를 통해 향후 초등체육 표현활동의 일환으로 라인댄스의 적용 여부, 역할 및 발전 방향을 진단하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구를 수행하기 위해 서울특별시관내 초등학교에서 근무하는 4명의 교사를 선정, 약 8개월 동안 주 1회 연구자가 주관하는 라인댄스 수업에 참여하여 일련의 체험 프로그램 과정을 거쳤으며, 8회에 걸친 심층면담과 각종 인터뷰를 통한 질적 분석을 수행했다. 그 결과 첫째, 교사 개인에게 있어서 무용이 보다 용이한 신체 활동으로 인식될 수 있는 계기가 되었다. 둘째, 성취감과 도전의식이 함양될 수 있다는 인식이 형성되었다. 셋째, 라인댄스를 가르치는 교사로서의 인식이 변화 되었다. 이러한 인식은 구체적으로 교사들이 기존에 가져왔던 표현활동 지도에 대한 어려움이 학습이 용이한 라인댄스의 특성으로 인해 자연스럽게 해결될 수 있다는 점, 초등학생의 발달단계에 따라 적절한 과정을 제시할 수 있다는 점, 학생 개인의 수준을 배려하고 극복하는 협동학습에 유리하다는 점, 시대상을 반영한 인성교육, 즉 공동체 의식과 리더십 등의 가치를 실현할 수 있다는 점 등으로 요약될 수 있다.
This study discusses changes in elementary school teachers’ perception of the line dance in the process of their own experience of line dance. It aims to diagnose whether to apply line dance as part of the future expression activity of physical education in elementary school, its role and developmental direction. To conduct the study, 4 teachers at an elementary school in Seoul were selected, a serial experience program of line dance class supervised by this researcher was carried out once a week for about 8 months, and 8 rounds of in-depth interviews and qualitative analysis through the various interviews were carried out. As a result, first, the program was a chance by which the dance came to be perceived as an easier physical by the individual teachers. Second, the perception that it could promote a sense of accomplishment and challenging spirit was formed. Third, the perception of the teachers of line dance changed. This perception can be summarized as follows: Specifically, it can naturally solve teachers’ difficulties in teaching expression activity thanks to the characteristic of line dance which is easy to learn; With the stages of development of elementary school students, an appropriate course can be proposed; It is advantageous for cooperative learning to consider the level of individual students to overcome difficulties; And character education reflecting the times, in other words, the value of a sense of community and leadership can be realized.
