본 연구의 목적은 패러디 동화 관련 활동이 유아의 비판적 사고 능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 있다. 이를 위해 경기도 구리시에 위치한 D유치원의 만 5세를 대상으로 실험집단 25명, 비교집단 25명, 총 50명의 유아들에게 본 연구를 실시하였다. 실험집단 유아들에게 원작 전래동화와 그 작품의 패러디 동화를 감상한 후 유아의 비판적 사고를 요구하는 동화 관련 활동을 하도록 하였고, 비교집단 유아들에게는 원작 전래동화만 감상하도록 하였다. 두 집단 유아들의 비판적 사고능력을 측정하기 위해 김현경(2002)의 도구를 수정하여 사용하였으며, 서로 다른 관점 인식하기, 생각을 검증하기, 판단하여 이유를 말하기, 결과 예측하기, 합리적으로 문제를 해결하기의 5가지 하위항목으로 나누어 사전, 사후검사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 패러디 동화 관련 활동은 자신의 생각 검증하기와 합리적으로 문제를 해결하기의 항목에서 유의미한 영향을 미쳤으며, 패러디 동화 관련 활동이 유아의 비판적 사고 능력을 향상시키는 데 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.


The purpose of this study was to examine how activities with parody tales affected to critical thinking ability of young children. The subjects were 50 five-year-old children in D kindergarten in Guri city of Gyunggi province. For this study, 25 children in the experimental group were treated 12 sessions of activities related to parody tales after they listened to 6 fairy tales and 12 parody tales. Other 25 children in comparative group were treated to listen to only 6 fairy tales. In order to measure the children's critical thinking ability, we modified the tool developed by Kim Hyun-Kyoung (2002) which was consisted of 5 contents, recognizing of others' perspective, inspecting of their own thought, reasoning for their own judgement, predicting possible results, and problem solving reasonably. The test was taken twice for pre-test and post-test. The collected data were analyzed by t-test using SPSS 12.0 computer program. According to the result of this study, children's critical thinking ability in the experimental group was improved significantly, especially inspecting their own thought and problem solving reasonably. So we could reach the decision that activities with parody tales affected to improve the critical thinking ability of young children.
