본 연구는 유아의 과학활동 중 유아교사가 접하게 되는 유아의 오개념에 대한 전반적인 인식을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 검사를 위하여 과학 오개념에 대한 인식연구와 문헌탐색을 통하여 설문지를 구성하였다. 설문지는 총 27문항으로, ‘과학활동 중 접하게 되는 오개념에 대한 유아교사의 인식’은 ‘오개념에 대한 인지도’, ‘오개념의 형성 원인’, ‘오개념이 수업에 미치는 영향’, ‘오개념의 변화에 대한 인식’, ‘오개념 교정을 위한 대안’으로 구성되었다. 과학활동 중 접하게 되는 오개념에 대한 유아교사의 인식을 조사한 결과 대부분의 교사들은 오개념에 대한 올바른 인식을 갖추지 못하고 있었으나 과학활동과 관련한 오개념을 확인하는 작업과 노력의 필요성은 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과 올바르지 못한 과학 상식들이 존재하며, 이러한 개념들을 바르게 고쳐나가는 것이 과학교육에 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 과학활동 중 접하게 되는 유아의 오개념을 인식하고 효과적인 학습이 이루어지도록 오개념에 대한 수업을 현장에 맞게 설계하고 다양하게 적용시켜보는 교사교육의 필요성을 시사하고 있다.
The purpose of this study was to figure out teachers' perception of children's misconception that early childhood teachers encountered during science activities. The subjects were 200 early childhood teachers who work for early child education institutions in G city. For this research, the questionnaire was developed through a perception research, related precedent studies on science misconception by Gomez-Zwiep(2008), Myeong-deok Jang(2009), kindergarten curriculum revised in 2007 and literature surveys. The completed questionnaire ultimately had 24 items in total as a result of modifying confusing items and excluding some difficult items. The types of early childhood teachers’ perception of children's misconception consisted of ‘the level of awareness of misconception’, ‘current state of misconception’, ‘misconception’s influence on teaching’, ‘perception of change of misconception’, and ‘alternatives for correcting misconception’. According to the results of this study even though most of teachers didn’t have appropriate perception of children's misconception, it appeared that they recognized the need to check and make an effort to identify children's misconception related to science activities. Therefore, it implies that teachers' identification and dispelling of children's misconceptions- during science activities is important. There is a need to offer teacher training which are designed for teachers to identify and dispell children's various misconceptions on-the-spot.
