본 연구는 다문화 그림책을 활용한 음악극 활동이 유아의 음악표현능력과 창의성에 미치는 효과를 알아보고, 이를 통하여 유아교육현장에 음악극이 어떻게 효과적으로 활용될 수 있는지 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 서울시에 소재한 두 어린이집에 재원 중인 만 4-5세 유아 78명을 대상으로 하였다. 실험처치는 실험집단 유아 37명에게는 다문화 그림책을 활용한 음악극 활동을 16회 실시하였고, 통제집단 유아 41명에게는 누리과정에 근거한 음악활동을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 다문화 그림책을 활용한 음악극 활동은 유아들의 음악표현능력의 4가지 하위범주, 노래, 악기연주, 신체표현, 음악창작 모두에서 실험집단과 통제집단 간에 유의한 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 다문화 그림책을 활용한 음악극 활동은 유아들의 창의성의 5가지 하위범주, 유창성, 독창성, 추상성, 정교성 및 성급한 종결에의 저항에서 실험집단과 통제집단 간에 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 다문화 그림책을 활용한 음악극 활동은 유아의 음악표현능력과 창의성의 변화에 미치는 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 유아교육현장에 다문화 그림책을 활용한 음악극 활동을 적용하기 위해서 음악극 계획, 창작, 실행, 공연 및 평가의 4단계에 걸쳐 체계적이고 다양한 협동활동을 촉진하는 교수전략이 필요함을 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study was to develop music drama activities using multicultural picture books for young children and to verify its effects. Through the investigation of relevant literatures and researches, the needs for research on music drama using multi-cultural picture books for young children were examined. The music drama using multi-cultural picture books consisted of total 16 activities with 12 traditional songs, various instruments, and dances of 4 different countries. In order to verify the effects of music drama using multi-cultural picture books on young children's musical expressive abilities and creativity, the music drama activities were applied to four or five-year-old 37 children in experimental group, music activities based on Nuri Curriculum were applied to four or five-year-old 41 children in control group, those who attending 2 child-care centers in Seoul. Pre- and post test were conducted to measure the level of musical expressive abilities and creativity and then SPSS 20.0 was conducted for data analysis. Mean, adjusted mean and standard deviation were calculated. ANCOVA was also conducted to determine the signigicant difference between the experimental group and control group. According to the results of this study, music drama activities using multi-cultural picture books developed were significantly effective in improvement the young children's musical expressive abilities, especially its four subarea, singing, playing musical instrument, expressing body movement, and music-making. Music drama activities using multi-cultural picture books had also significant effects on increasing young children's creativity as well. Specifically, music drama activities has significant effects on five subarea of creativity, fluency, uniqueness, elaboration, abstractness of theme, and resistance of hurried closing. Music drama activities using multi-cultural picture books should be applied through early childhood education alongside with developing systematic and various strategies stimulating cooperative music drama activities, specifically in four steps of music drama: planning, creating, playing and evaluation.
