This study examines the appearance of the use of meta-cognition in Korean language students’ writing revision. This was accomplished by analyzing oral thinking protocol and interview data from three KAP students’ writing revision processes. This paper examines the meta-cognition process the meta-cognition process of KAP learners of Korean during the writing revision process by looking at three different factors: author variables, assignment variables, and strategy variables. The author variables are the way in which the author’s attitude and Korean ability are used in the revision process. The assignment variables are the way in which the revision process is affected by the nature of the writing assignment and its standards for completion. The strategy variables refer to the strategy the author chooses to complete the task to supplement their writing ability. This paper is important because it examines the meta-cognitive variables which take place during the writing revision process, searching for knowledge which can be used in the writing training of KAP learners of Korean language.
