이 연구는 ‘현대’ 사례를 중심으로 김대중정부의 대북정책과 남북 경제협력을 살펴보기 위한 것이다. 이와 관련, 김대중정부의 대북정책으로서의 ‘햇볕정책’은 매우 성공적이었다. 특히 현대의 금강산 관광사업으로 상징되는 남북 경협정책은 더욱 그러했다. 그러나 그럼에도 현대의 금강산 관광사업 자체는 현대의 자금난으로 인해 위기에 봉착하지 않을 수 없었다. 이 논문은 햇볕정책의 상징적인 사업이었던 현대의 금강산 관광사업이 직면한 이 같은 역설적 딜레마를 분석한다.
This paper examines Kim Dae-jung Government's North Korea Policy and Inter-korean economic cooperation through the case of Hyundai. In this regard, The Sun-shine Policy as the North Korea policy of Kim Dae-jung Government was very successful. Above all, the tourism project on Kumgang Mountains of Hyundai, symbolic of the inter-Korean economic coorporation was very successful. Nonetheless has the Kumgang Mountains project itself been forced to face a crise from the financial difficulty of Hyundai. This article analizes the paradoxical dilemma faced by the Kumgang Mountains project, though it was the symbolic project of The Sun-shine Policy of Kim Dae-jung Government.
