North Korean youth have experienced both vertical and horizontal marginalization through grammar of inequality including opportunity hoarding, rent seeking and distanciation. within their social space. Rapid marketization after 1990s has multi-dimenstionally transformed social space of inequality. Within the realigned social space the older generation put the youth into marginal mass by systemic excluding the young in space of power, wealth and symbol respectively. Socio-economic status of one generation is reproduced to next generation by the inter-generational marginalization. At the other hand, the young have divided themselves by repeating the behavior of the older generation to their contemporaries leading to marginalization for most of them. It is a disappointing paradox that horizontal marginalization is structured by their everyday spatial practices repeating the behavior of older generation.
