Father-searching Yadam not only succeeded to the motifs or narrativestructures of Shamanistic myths and nation founding myths, but alsofundamentally transformed and reformed them. Father-searching Yadam foregrounded and mystified Yangban blood inthe process of seeking fathers by their sons. This proves that the narrativetradition of Shamanistic myths and nation founding myths are activelyinherited and transformed in the father-searching yadam. Father-searching Yadam tried to overcome the crisis of the patriarchalsystem of Choson, by holding Yangban blood sacred and empathizing morallaws of son-father relationship. Father-searching Yadam also solved the problems of fathers who wereliving in the desperate situations. These stories reflected the hope of thedownfallen people who desperately wanted to escape from their destituteand wretched lives. In this point, searching-for-father Yadam reformedtheir own narrative tradition, by incorporating contemporary society. Sometimes these two orientations are incorporated in the stories with twofathers: potential and real father. The former is a commoner while thelatter is a yangban. Each acts and thinks accordingly to his class. However,as the stories develops, their relationship is either reversed orintermingled. Or even though the son still respects his yangban blood, hisfather has already deserted it and led a new life due to his desperatecircumstance. Unrest in the social stratification of and diversification of lifein the late Choson changed the narrative structure of father-seekingyadam.
