This article highlights the skills and competencies in such areas as knowledge, communication and personal/professional development that are based on the teachings and writings of Peter Drucker. In his book Landmarks of Tomorrow (1957), Drucker introduced the knowledge worker concept. The knowledge worker of the 21st century must reinvent him- or herself to stay relevant during a long professional life. Applying Drucker's timeless concepts are an excellent way to achieve this reinvention, as they will still be useful when knowledge of today's software programs and websites becomes outdated.
