Gyeru(桂婁) originating from the political groups of Buyeo(夫餘) accounted for Koguryo(高句麗) royal throne on behalf of the Sono(消奴). Because of these historical experience, the ancestor of Gyeru was not immediately have been recognized founder of Koguryo. Gyeru royal distingushed themselves from other groups, and emphasized the legitimacy of the sacredness of the royal scepter. It was Based on succession to the Dongmyeong(東明). This attitude was the official position of the Koguryo government until the middle of the third century. Koguryo overcomes the crisis in the country since the end of the third century. Since the mid-fourth century, Koguryo rebuild the political system, and defended against the foreign conquest. For this reason, newly established relation with Buyeo. At first, Gyeru royal emphasized that Jumong(朱蒙) was the descendants of Dongmyeong. In these circumstances Gyeru royal was imparted status as the founder of Koguryo to Jumong. However, after the Buyeo subordinated to Koguryo Gyeru royal members regarded Jumong as the founder of Koguryo, and status of Jumong was seperated from that of Dongmyeong. At the same time, Gyeru royal members called Buyeo as the hometown of Jumong in the founding story, since they treated Buyeo to part of Koguryo. These aspects show that the founding story on Jian Koguryo Tablet(集安高句麗碑) represented the previous period than that on Gwanggaeto-wang Tablet(廣開土王陵碑).
