본 연구는 <부산지명총람>에 해설된 지명을 대상으로 그 해석의 오류를 지적하고 올바른 말밑을 제시하는 것이 목적이다. 먼저, 대상 지명이 지명 명명의 일반적 특성에 어긋나는 것을 확인하고 이에 따라 해당 지형, 역사 기록, 관련된 지명, 지물 등을 검토해 지명 해석 오류를 교정해 나갈 수 있음을 보였다. 그래서, ‘노포동(老圃洞)’은 ‘너른 나루’, ‘고갈산(枯渴山)’은 ‘고깔모양의 산’, ‘마비현(馬飛峴)’은 ‘마을로 넘어가는 고개’, ‘한태공원’의 ‘한태’는 ‘너른 터’, ‘고래뜰’은 ‘넓은 들’, ‘화현(華峴)’은 ‘입구 고개’, ‘호현(狐峴)’은 ‘첫 고개’ ‘가자골’은 ‘가장(假葬)을 하던 골짜기’, ‘널박 마을’은 ‘너른 들에 있는 마을’로 오류를 수정하였다.
This study points out the etymological errors of a place name in the book, <Busan-Jimyungchongram> and it aims that the work has to suggest correct forms to our community. As a result of our research, “Nopo-dong” became “The spacious deck,” “Gogal-san” as “The peaked hood shaped mountain,” “Mabi-hyun” turned to “The pass that leads to a town.” The word “Hante” of the “Hante-Park” changed to “The vast place,” “Goretteul” altered to “The broad valley,” and “Wha-hyun” transformed to “The entrance pass” In addition, “Ho-hyun” as “The first pass,” “Gaja-gol” replaced “The valley that was for a temporary graves,” and “Nerbak” proofread to “The wide place.” As you see, the errors in <Busan-Jimyungchongram> should be corrected as soon as possible.
