이 글은 현대국어의 한자어를 대상으로 어두 경음화 실현 양상과 그 특징을 살펴보는 것이 목적이다. 현대국어에서 나타나는 어두 경음화 현상은 주로 고유어에서 나타나므로 한자어의 어두 경음화를 예외적이라고 보았으나 현실 발음에서는 종종 나타나고 있다. 이를 확인하기 위해 한자어 어두 경음화 목록을 수집하고 대학생을 대상으로 한자어의 어두 경음화 발음 실태를 조사하고 인터넷 웹 검색을 활용하여 어두 경음화한 한자어의 표기 실태를 확인하였다. 또한 한자어의 어두 경음화의 구조적 기제는 과연 무엇이며 한자어 어두 경음화는 어떤 기능을 수행하는지 설명하였다.
This paper investigates the phonological variation of word-initial glottalization in Sino-Korean word and its features. This also avoid an exceptional position that the phenomenon of word-initial glottalization usually appears only in native language. To examine the phonological variation of glottalization and its features of Sino-Korean word in modern Korean, firstly, a list of word-initial glottalization is presented and the dialects of word-initial glottalization and the present condition are compared. In the study, a total of 100 subjects were selected to participate and a survey was conducted to find out the realization degree of word-initial glottalization. Besides, Internet web search was used in order to determine the recognition of word-initial glottalization and the real condition of transcription was considered to examine how word-initial glottalization in Sino-korean word affects transcription. Lastly, the function of word-intial glottalization in Sino-Korean word was discussed.
