There was an excluded history, migrant labor’s history, in Germanhiring policies of migrant laborers from 1955 to 1973. Nursingstudents from the Third world were some of those who wereexcluded. The Recruiter belonged to religious organizations, theywere sent to Germany. Catholics were an important part of thishistory. Some of the nursing students spent more time working inGerman hospitals, nursing homes or sanatoriums than they didstudying. Although several people in the Catholic church, priests ornuns, imported those nursing students for their Catholic activities, the students actually did some other activities for German Welfare. This was another important role of the German Catholic church as aprivate organization. At that time Germany had high status as acountry which supported development of citizens of others countries. With this status, Germany could use these students for its welfareactivities in the name of the students’ education. Because of thedivision of the world after the end of the Cold War (relationsbetween welfare and work and least capitalism) most girls enteredthe German labor market to get an education and in this situationthe German Catholic church played an important role.
