This Article examines the reality, programs and proposals that current victim’s rights in police investigatory procedures. Sudden victimization can lead to extreme trauma. Victimization can also lead to shift in psychological perspective from believing that the world is a frightening or indifferent place. So victims feel confrontation with isolation from others. The protection in police investigation stage is important to crime victims in that victims first come into contact police officers. Through the amendment of the Code of Criminal Procedures in 2007, institutional devices to protect the victims of crime in court have currently been prescribed within the Code of Criminal Procedures, which enables them to be applicable to victims of all cases. Nevertheless, there are many things to be improved in police investigation stage regarding victims’ protection. For instance, the right to be notified of the course of criminal procedure, the right to sit in company with persons in relation of mutual trust should be legally guaranteed in every case. In addition to protecting one’s safety, the right to be treated by a doctor and one stop service of examinationㆍmedical treatmentㆍconsultation needs to be extended. Furthermore, the environment of room where the examination happens is to be improved and the line up procedure should be conducted in circumstances that there is a one way mirror. The number of female police officers should be increased as well. These measures will become a reality only if the attitude of police changes, the investigation system is innovated and both human and material resources for that are expanded.
