Comparison to Self Esteem, Family Adaptation, Health Promoting Behaviors, and Symptoms of Stress between Nursing and Other Major University Women Student Han, Kuem Sun1)·Kim, Guen Myun2) 1) Associate Professor, Korea University, College of Nursing, 2) Instructor, Korea University, College of Nursing Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the self esteem (SE), health promoting behavior (HPB), family adaptation (FA) and symptoms of stress(SOS) between nursing and other major university student. Method: Data were collected by questionnaires from 200 university students in Seoul, Korea. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-test, and t-test. Results: The amount of smoking of nursing students showed lower than other women students. The score of HPB of nursing students showed higher than other major women student. The score of SE, and SOS of nursing students showed lower than other major student. There were significant relationship among SE, HPB, FA, and SOS. Conclusion: This study suggest that SE, HPB, FA are significantly considerate factors in development stress management program among university students.
