Purpose: The purpose of this study was to generate a grounded substantive theory of the anger coping process of hypertensive patients in Korea. Methods:For this study, the grounded theory method was utilized. The sample was comprised of 9 hypertensive patients. Results: According to the data analysis, the coping process of anger in people with hypertension was unintentional expression of anger recognition of raised blood pressure anxiety and fear suppression of anger expression deliberative expression of anger or unintentional expression of anger as a circle. The core category was named a 'controlling of one's mind'. Conclusion: In conclusion, finding excellent coping strategies are needed to express their own anger efficiently and healthily. And also help people find alternatives to express their own anger.
