Purpose: This study was to examine the effects of therapeutic recreation on interpersonal relationships and quality of life in nursing students. Methods: A randomized controlled pre-post test design was used. Subjects consisted of 63 nursing students residing in 2 nursing colleges in S city. The subjects participated in a 60 minute therapeutic recreation program for 10 sessions(10 week period). The collected data was analyzed by the SPSS/WIN 12.0 program that included a chi-square test and independent t-test. Results: This study showed that the interpersonal relationships and quality of life significantly increased after the therapeutic recreation. Conclusion: In conclusion, this therapeutic recreation was effective in improving interpersonal relationships and quality of life of nursing students.
