본 연구는 중등학교 과정에서 장애학생 대상으로 이루어지는 ‘고용’으로의 전환을 위한 교육 현실을 간략히 살펴보고, 그 이후 한국현실의 법령과 행정을 감안한 고용으로의 전환교육 성과확대 방안을 제안하는데 목적이 있었다. 학교에서 지역으로의 성공적인 전환에 영향을 미치는 많은 요인들 중 가장 중요한 것이 ‘고용’이라고 한다면, 중등교육 이후에 지역사회에서 생활하고 있는 장애성인들의 전반적인 고용률이 낮고, 고용이 되었다고 하더라도 고용상태가 불량하며, 직장 적응의 문제로 이직률이 높고, 직업이동에 따른 훈련․알선 기회가 적고, 지역사회의 장애성인 고용을 위한 준비 및 지원도 제대로 이루어지지 못하고 있는 문제들이 도출되었다. 이에 기반하여, 중등교육이후에 장애학생의 성공적인 고용으로의 전환교육은 전환 관련 법령의 체제적 정비, 직업 교육과정 운영의 유연성 확대, 학교와 직장을 연계하는 효율화 방안 강구, 현장 친화적 직업교육 모델의 구안 및 실천, 취업 활성화를 위한 학교와 사업체 지원 등의 확대․적용 정책 마련이 필요하다는 결론을 도출했다. 한편, 본 연구에서는 국가차원의 중등교육이후 진로 실태에 대한 전반적인 경향성과 연도별 추이의 지속적인 추적조사 실시, 장애학생의 고용으로의 전환을 위하여 해당학교와 지역사회의 협력 및 연계에 관한 실천적인 체제구축 방안 등의 추후연구를 제안하였다.
The study was to review briefly educational situation for transition to 'employment' for disabled student in secondary education course and to suggest plans to extended transition education to employment considering Korean legal and administrative circumstances. If the most important thing of many factors to affect successful transition from school to local community is 'employment', there are many problems: employment rate of disabled adults after second education who live in local society is generally low. Even though they are employed, the environment is poor and because of problems from workplace adjustment, rate of taking up another employment is higher. Even training courses and recommendations are rare and preparations and supports for their employment in local society are barely done. Based on them, transition education to successful employment for disabled students after their secondary education, needs systematization of transition-related laws and regulations, extension of management of flexibility of job training courses. extension and application of supporting schools and businesses for invigorating employment. This study also suggests future studies including to build practical systems for collaborations and liaisons between the schools and local society in order to conduct national level continual tracing surveys of general tendencies and annual changes about career situations after secondary education and to transit employment for disabled students.
