This paper considers the education curriculum required in today’s world. The purpose of education for the late modern society goes beyond the mere transfer of specialized knowledge and to the development of individuals with self-leadership capacity, who possess the ethics of both the scholarship and the community. In this piece, such argument is made for the development of curriculum aimed at cultivating ethical leaders. Towards that goal, this paper uses “the Catholic University of Korea” as a model to discuss in detail the characteristics of the curriculum, the contents and significance of the curriculum, and the expected effects and problems by putting this curriculum into practice. If the curriculum for ethical leader education could be successfully put to work through this project, it will make a contribution to the university education which is facing difficulty. As such, the structure for the university education will be two-fold, with humanistic education based on a philosophical understanding of people on the one hand, and a philosophical and critical thinking, as well as logical writing on the other hand. This paper accounts for the philosophical meaning of, and reflection upon, such education, in addition to the contents of the education.
