본 연구의 목적은 사회적 상호작용면과 의사소통면에서 어려움을 보이는 발달장애학생들에게 SNS(Social Network Services)를 지도하여 발달장애학생들이 SNS 활동에 어떻게 참여하는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이러한 목적을 수행하기 위하여 질적 연구 방법을 활용하였다. 두 명의 지도교사가 네 명의 발달장애학생들을 대상으로 지도하고, 그들의 활동을 관찰기록하였다. 관찰기록 자료는 주제에 따라 범주화되었다. 본 연구의 결과 발달장애학생들은 SNS학습 활동에 적극적이었으며, SNS를 통해 의사를 표현하려는 노력을 보이고, 온라인상에서 타인과의 상호작용에 있어서 즐거움을 나타내었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 발달장애 학생들이 여러 가지 상황에서 SNS를 활용하여 교육적 효과를얻을 수 있는 방안들이 모색되어져야 함을 시사한다.
The purpose of this study is to explore how students with developmental disabilities interact with others through social network services. Two tutors,instructing four students with developmental disabilities, documented students’interactions with others through social networking services. This is a qualitative research study based on observation. It found that students with developmental disabilities expressed themselves with several words, rather than with single-word responses, when they communicated via SNSs, and that they anticipated interactions with other people through Facebook. These findings suggest that students with developmental disabilities will actively communicate with others through SNSs. It is therefore important to explore how to SNS activities can be applied effectively in other educational areas.
