Liturgy and Worship in the Apocalypse of John-Resistance against the Idolatry and Political Utopia The purpose of this paper is to interpret the apocalyptic visions of the liturgy and worship in the Apocalypse of John from the perspective of the victims. There are seven scenes of the worship in the Apocalypse of John, all of which take place in the heaven. These visions of the worship represent the alternative consciousness of the Christian communities which understand the worship as the place of training for the resistance against the emperor worship and the Roman imperialism. In order to gain a new perspective for the reform of the worship in the modern church, it is very significant to find out the contents and function of the liturgy and worship of the heavenly beings in the Apocalypse of John. Liturgy and worship in the Apocalypse of John are shown to be very powerful tools for generating not only solidarity and commitment within the Christian community, but also resistance and struggle against the evil power of capitalism and imperialism and the empire of the capital in the context of globalization and neo-liberalism.
