This study focuses on the comparison of organizational commitment among Korean private employees, Korean public employees, and Thai private employees to investigate both international and intranational differences. Results show that there are significant international differences found in affective commitment. However, there are significant intranational differences in continuance commitment. Generally, public employees tend to show higher continuance commitment level than private employees. The study also confirms that there are both international and intranational differences between explanatory variables and commitment. Various task skill and formalization are found to be significant in explaining affective commitment for Korean groups, whereas participation in decision making and fairness are important for Thai group. In general, there are clearer inter-group differences found in affective commitment than in continuance commitment.
