AB - In this paper we analysis the determinants of Vertical and Horizontal IIT(Intra Industry Trade) in Korean manufacturing trade. We classified IIT into two categories-Horizontal and Vertical IIT-base on their import and export unit prices. First in cross country analysis, we regress the effects of country specific factors on each IIT. Regression results show that the main determinants of Horizontal IIT are the countries' economy size and distance between two countries. But the effect of relative per capia income difference, the proxy of factor endowment, on Vertical IIT was not significant. Second in cross industry analysis, we examined if the industry specific factors affect IIT. In result shows that the product differentiation has positive impact on Horizontal IIT. And the number of firms in the industry affect positively on Vertical IIT.
