본 연구의 목적은 다문화교육이라는 관점에서 일본 고등학생을 위한 한국어 교육의 의의를 밝히고 현재 이루어지고 있는 교육의 문제점을 제시하는 데에 있다. 일본 고등학교에서의 한국어 교육은 한국어 교육을 도입한 과정이나 교육 목적 및 내용, 교육 체계 측면에서 성인학습자를 위한 한국어 교육과 큰 차이가 있다. 많은 고등학교에서는 다문화교육을 이유로 한국어 교육을 도입한 과정이 있으나 지금까지 ‘한국어 교육을 통한 다문화교육이란 무엇인가?’라는 근본적이고 본질적인 논의가 이루어지지 않았다. 따라서 본고에서는 다문화교육으로서의 한국어 교육의 의의와 문화 교육의 단계를 밝히고 현행 일본 고등학생을 위한 교육과정과 교재에 나타나는 문화 교육의 내용과 방법을 분석하였다. 마지막으로 이러한 분석을 통하여 밝혀진 문제점을 지적하고 향후 과제를 제시하였다.
A purpose of this study is to show significance of the Korean education for the Japanese high school student in the multicultural education. The Korean education for Japanese high school students is different from Korean education for adults in many ways. Education purpose, contents and systems are different. Most of high schools have been teaching Korean for multicultural education purpose. However, there was the lack of considerations what ‘Korean education as multicultural education’ is. Therefore, I defined ‘multicultural education’ and showed significance of multicultural education. Then I analyzed contents, curriculum and teaching materials in Korean education for the Japanese high school students. Finally, I suggested new directions for teaching Korean as multicultural education.
