현대 레저․스포츠 산업에 대한 이해와 대처의 미흡으로 체육관련 전공자들의 취업률이 절반수준에 그치고 있으며, 실무형 스포츠 인재를 요구하는 시대적 요구를 위해 변화하는 과정에서 4년제 대학들이 정체성 혼란을 겪고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 레저․스포츠 산업현황분석을 기반으로 체육관련 전공의 특성화방안을 모색하고자 한다. 이를 위해 문헌조사를 실시하였으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 과거의 산업사회에서는 스포츠를 전인교육, 국위선양, 국민건강을 위한 문화․체육활동으로써 단편적인 활동으로 이해하였다면, 현대의 탈산업사회에서는 레저문화 활성화의 영향으로 스포츠를, 레저․관광․문화산업을 융합한 고부가가치 레저서비스 영역, 스포츠와 미디어의 결합으로 공간을 초월하는 레저서비스 영역, 몸과 마음을 동시에 돌볼 수 있는 감성적 레저서비스 영역, 능동적인 국민복지 실현을 위한 레저서비스 영역으로 이해되고 있다. 그러므로 체육관련 전공의 특성화를 위하여 대학에서는 창조․소통․공감․융합․기획 능력을 지닌 실무형 스포츠 산업 인재 양성에 초점을 맞추어 교육해야 할 것이다. 체육관련 전공의 특성화를 현실화하기 위해서는 대학은 졸업인증제 및 교과목을 개발하고, 지역기관과 연계한 현장실습을 운영하며, 대학 교원들의 인식전환이 필요하다.
Partly due to the absence of understanding and insight on new trend of leisure industry of Korea, the graduates of sport and PE majors’ employment rate is not high enough to meet the expectation of the universities and society and this phenomena resulted in the chaotic situation and faced identity crisis. The new era is expecting a newly equipped graduates in the field of physical education related majors. This study probed contemporary phenomena of Korean leisure industry, based on the review of literature the researchers suggested the direction for related majors. In former industrial society, sport activity and practices in general was regarded as practical and functioned to be nation’s means as pride, to develop wholesome characteristic, and to promote national health. Contrary to this, current view of sport and leisure majors are the professions who are equipped with a highly organized and versatile to meet the needs of leisure and sport of various types of population. The researchers came to the following conclusions. First, the related majors are need to understand the filed is changing dynamically and rapidly and need to cope with these trends. The flexible thought change process and willingness to challenge are quite needed. Second, the curriculum of this field should be reshuffled and came up to a newer version for future orientation. Third, the researchers suggested graduate certification system, numerous practicum in college, and creative departmental operations.
