본고에서는 포은 정몽주의 한시에 나타난 구성상의 특징적 면모를 살펴보았다. 포은의 한시는 전장(戰場)에서의 감회를 읊거나, 사행(使行) 과정에서 느끼는 객수와 그리움 등을 읊은 것이 많이 남아있으며, ‘호방(豪放)’하고 ‘혼후(渾厚)’하며, ‘준결(峻潔)’하고 ‘표일(飄逸)’하다는 평을 듣고 있다. 포은의 시에 대한 이와 같은 미감들은 시가 가지는 전체적인 의미를 통해 발현되기도 하지만, 시의 구성면에서도 나타난다. 기승전결의 적절한 구성, 구와 구의 유기적인 연결, 시의의 균형있는 배분 등은 시를 구성하는 중요한 요소이기 때문이다. 포은은 시를 지으면서 규칙적이고 균형있게 첩(疊)을 반복하고 있으며, 전체의 시를 완전하게 구상을 하고 구와 연을 하나씩 차례로 완성해 나가고 있다. 즉, 시 전체를 시간의 순서와 공간의 원근에 따라 첫 구부터 마지막 구까지 연속적인 시상으로 통일성 있게 배치하고 있다. 또한 수련부터 대장을 놓는 구법을 자주 사용하고 있다. 이는 표현하고자 하는 중요한 내용을 제일 앞에 제시함으로써 효과를 더욱 극대화 시키려는 의도를 나타낸 것이다. 마지막으로 포은은 주어와 서술어가 결합된 어휘를 즐겨 사용함으로써, 결국 우리나라 말의 어순대로 하나의 구를 구성하는 배열구(排列句)를 즐겨 사용하였다. 이와 같은 구성적 측면에서의 연구는 아직 구체적인 방법론이 정립되지 않은 상태이다. 그러나 한시의 문학적 특징과 성취에 대한 연구에 있어 필수적인 것이기에 소홀히 할 수 없는 부분이기도 하다. 그런 면에서 앞으로의 연구에 구성적인 측면이 가지는 필요성을 제기하는데 그 목적을 두었다.
This research examines the compositional characteristics of Po-eun Jeong Mong-ju’s Hansi. Po-eun’s Hansi gets reputations of being magnanimous, generous, serious, and unconventional. The esthetic senses in Po-eun’s Hansi are revealed in the aspects of the composition as well as the general meanings of the poems. The proper organizations of the four steps in composition(introduction, development, turn, and conclusion), systematic connections of phrases, and well-balanced distributions of the meanings are all important in the poems. Po-eun repeats ‘Cheop(疊)’ in the regular and balanced basis, and completes phrases and verses one by one after conceiving the whole poem in the perfect form. All the verses are placed with unity of continuing poetic concepts from the first to the last phrase according to the chronological order and space distance. Also, the rule of phrase to dispose the rhyming couplet from the head stanza is often used, which shows the intention of magnifying the effect by introducing the important content to express at the first. Lastly, Po-eun likes using sequential phrases that build phrases by Korean word orders, using the words in which subjects and verbs are integrated.
